John Lloyd levels up

MANILA, Philippines - With his talent and good looks, John Lloyd Cruz has captured the hearts of Filipino fans, but would he be able to win over Hollywood’s brightest? According to his latest commercial, at least, he definitely can. The face of Greenwich Pizza has a new TV advertisement out and it shows that, as the Philippines’ answer to the likes of Shia LeBouf and Robert Pattinson, John Lloyd has what it takes to level up higher than ever, much like the brand’s new Overload Pizza variants Angus Maximus and 5-Star Bacon Burger Melt.

The commercial shows John Lloyd reaching new heights in his acting career as he defeats hotshot Hollywood actors and wins Best Actor in an international, fictional acting awards gala, the Orion. Angus Maximus has two times more mozzarella cheese and is overloaded with prime Black Angus beef, all set in a delicious pizza sauce blend. Also with two times more mozzarella cheese is 5-Star Bacon Burger Melt which is overloaded with a quarter-pound of crispy bacon strips and premium beef and is generously topped with mushrooms, onions and cheese drizzle.

“This is one of the most exciting commercials I’ve ever done. I was excited the first time I heard the concept and the overall experience was so much fun. We actually finished shooting earlier than expected because everyone was in high spirits for this project,” John Lloyd explains. “Moreover, this commercial really made me aspire to level-up and win a real international award in the future.”

Directed by Carlo Directo, who also worked on Greenwich’s previous TVCs, this is Greenwich’s biggest commercial to date in terms of casting and production. The TVC has a foreign cast and a sophisticated Hollywood feel to resemble actual international acting awards shows.
