Why it's easy to be an Anne Curtis fan

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -

Anne Curtis is drop-dead gorgeous. That day I spoke to her for an SNN interview, she was in maong shorts, loose white cotton shirt and a red pair of shoes. She was wearing red lipstick and an aura that politely whispered, “I am beautiful.” And she was. She is.

Now that she’s in her mid-20s, she has the confidence of a young woman in control of her world. What happened to her and Sam? I inquired. “We have become very good friends.”

What about her pretty, pretty sister Jasmine? Boys were “casing” her when she was here during her school break. Will she allow her to join show business? “She’s free to choose what she wants but she has to finish school.”

What about Erwin Heusaff? Are they exclusively dating? “You probably can call it that way. We’re enjoying our lives. But I’m not comfortable talking about him in deference to his family and to him who is not public.”

She is also having a blast hosting Showtime, one of TV land’s biggest hits of the year. Anne is most challenged by her hosting chore. She’s quickly learning the tricks and is having great fun while forging meaningful friendships with her co-hosts.

It’s hard not to be an Anne Curtis fan!

New episodes on Art 2 Art

Art 2 Art, the 2009 Catholic Mass Media awardee for Best Educational Program on Radio, continues to bring “usapang sining at kultura para sa lahat” this month as host- prima ballerina Lisa Macuja interviews interesting personalities from various art disciplines. Art 2 Art next features the following episodes:

June 20 — Curator Regina “Ginny” Cruz of the Museo ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas drops by to relate what the money museum has to share with the public. Established in 1974, the museum — repository and custodian of the country’s numismatic heritage — visually narrates the development of the Philippine economy, parallel to the evolution of its currency. The museum also showcases a collection of rare and special coins from other parts of the world and paintings from the BSP art collection. The museum does not charge entrance fees.

June 27 — Art 2 Art caps the month with a tribute to National Artist for Music Antonino Buenaventura, with music critic and Prof. Tony Hila as resource speaker. Hila recounts how Buenaventura, though quite sickly when he was young, persisted so he could pursue studies at UP College of Music where he earned a Teacher’s Diploma in Music, major in science and composition.

Produced by the Manila Broadcasting Company, Art 2 Art airs nationwide every Sunday, 3:30 to 4 p.m., on dzRH (666 khz on the AM band). It can be viewed simultaneously on Cablelink cable television’s Channel 9 and accessed in the Internet through the website http://dzrh.tripod.com. For inquiries, e-mail at [email protected]. On Facebook, check out the account Ballerina ng Bayan for updates on Art 2 Art episodes and Ballet Manila performances.
