Santino and Buboy's favorite drink
MANILA, Philippines - They may be appearing on TV shows from rival stations, but when it comes to their favorite drink, both Zaijan “Santino” Jaranilla and Robert “Buboy” Villar agree that Bear Brand Choco is their top choice.
It is a drink that contains all the goodness of milk and the delicious chocolate flavor children love. It is also fortified with zinc and Vitamin C — essential nutrients that help fight sickness and fatigue.
That both child stars agreed Bear Brand Choco is their favorite shouldn’t cause any more “argument” between them, right? Not quite.
Like any kid their age, Zaijan and Buboy have strong opinions about the things they like — their favorite cartoons, books, toys — and they are just as opinionated when it comes to Bear Brand Choco.
“It’s choco na gatas,” believes Zaijan, who gained fame through the TV series, May Bukas Pa.
Buboy, who played the equally popular character, Ding in Darna, believes otherwise. “It’s gatas na choco,” he says.
As their TVC for Bear Brand Choco shows, though, they’ve switched opinions and believe the other was right the first time.
Zaijan started appearing on TV commercials at five. He got a break on ABS-CBN, via the TV show, Komiks Presents: Tiny Tony where he played the young John Pratts.
Zaijan was also cast in the popular kiddie gag show, Goin’ Bulilit, but his biggest break came when he was tapped to play Santino in May Bukas Pa. Zaijan won the 2009 Best New Male TV Personality from the Philippine Movie Press Club’s Star Awards and the 2009 Anak TV Seal Award for Male Makabata Awardee.
Buboy had his TV debut via Little Big Star. After being declared the champion of Season 2 of the talent contest, he took the acting route and appeared as the comic sidekick of some of the most popular characters on TV.
Buboy played Ding in Darna, Buboy in Dyesebel and Pepe in Zorro.
He won Best Child Performer in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival for Shake, Rattle & Roll X and repeated the feat in the 2009 MMFF for Ang Panday.
