MANILA, Philippines - Alvin Yapan’s Ang Panggagahasa Kay Fe (The Rapture Of Fe), winner of Cinemalaya’s Special Jury Prize (shared with Colorum) will open on Nov. 11 at Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Ermita, Remar, Roben and Cinema Cebu.
The MTRCB gave the film an R 18 rating and was approved without cuts.
After its screening at the Chicago International Film Festival and New Delhi Film Festival last month, Ang Panggagahasa will take part in the international competition for digital feature films at the Cairo International Film Festival in Egypt starting today until Nov. 20. The winner in this section will receive $10,000.
Yapan and producer Alemberg Ang are going to Cairo to present the film.
In December, the film will also compete for the Spirit of Freedom competition category at the Bahamas International Film Festival.
This is the first feature film of Yapan, a Literature professor at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Ang Panggagahasa Kay Fe features Irma Adlawan, Noni Buencamino, Mercedes Cabral and TJ Trinidad.
The film is represented internationally and locally by Ignatius Films Canada’s Ferdinand Lapuz and Antonio de Guzman Jr.
