John Lloyd & Sarah's feel-good food

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Nothing stirs up a better conversation than reminiscing on fond memories of one’s childhood days. Indeed, when hot showbiz love team and talented stars John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, the newest endorsers of Lucky Me! Pancit Canton, sat down to share what their childhoods were like, there was no stopping the laughter, the endless teasing, and of course, the occasional sentimental moments.

While John Lloyd and Sarah have incredible chemistry on and off-screen, they couldn’t be more different as kids. John Lloyd describes himself as “very, very shy” while Sarah remembers her young self as “bibang-biba.” Still, the two of them share similar stories of growing up with family around them, visiting their relatives regularly, and having sleepovers with their cousins.

When John Lloyd recalls a particularly embarrassing childhood moment, he starts laughing. “There was a time when I had my hair cut old-school, Francis M-style,” he says, grinning. “Sobrang ‘in’ kasi ‘yun noon eh. The next day, every kid at school was laughing at me. In that way, I guess you could say I got famous!” For Sarah, what was ‘in’ then were fake retainers. “I saved up my allowance in sixth grade so that I could buy fake retainers!” she says, giggling. “I was late going home because of that, kaya napagalitan tuloy ako.”
