Five-year licensing agreement

MANILA, Philippines - To promote sound recording copyright protection, ABS-CBN recently signed a licensing agreement with the Music and Video Performance, Inc. (MVP), the collecting arm of the Philippine Music Public Performance Society, Inc. (PMPPSI) which is composed of local and foreign producers. Under the five-year licensing agreement, ABS-CBN (represented by Cory Vidanes, head of TV Production, seated third from left) is authorized to continue with the public performance in all its network activities. Public performance rights of record producers are protected and the payment of royalties is mandated under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
