The view from Dantes' Peak
MANILA, Philippines - Jose Sixto Gonzales Dantes III or Dingdong Dantes turned his successful birthday special last Aug. 22 at GMA 7’s Studio 7 into a big birthday celebration with his supporters/advertisers, family, friends and fans. The TV special titled Dantes Peak highlighted the launching of his first ‘bookazine’ and his pet project, the YES Pinoy Foundation.
The invitation was for 8 p.m. and early birds were GMA exec Wilma Galvante, direk Mark Reyes and Ricky Reyes. Sharing the stage with Dingdong were Marian Rivera, Richard Gomez, Joey de Leon, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, German ‘Kuya Germs’ Moreno, Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, Angelu de Leon, Bobby Andrews, Rich Asuncion, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Karla Gutierrez, Matteo Guidicelli, Daiana Meneses, Julie Ann San Jose, Rochelle Pangilinan and Abztract Dancers.
The third Sexiest Men in the World rendered several songs and dance number that he heartily dedicated to everyone, specially his fans, who have been with him since his early years in show business. Dingdong sang with friends Arthur Solinap, Paolo Contis, Gabby Eigenmann, Dennis Trillo and Geoff Eigenmann who wore a pilot suit in a production number. The Kapuso hunk also shared stories from his childhood, dreams, fantasies, crushes and how he started in showbiz. They also talked about Dingdong’s upcoming TV series Stairway to Heaven with leading lady Rhian Ramos.
A day after Mother Lily Monteverde hosted Marian’s birthday party, the Darna star and Dingdong did it again in a production number with the La Diva (composed of Maricris Garcia, Jonalyn Viray and Aicelle Santos), who sang Can You Read My Mind. Highlight of the number was the finale hug and kiss from Marian and Dingdong.
Dingdong’s star-studded birthday bash will air tonight on GMA 7’s Sunday Night Box Office presents Dantes Peak.
