MANILA, Philippines – When it rains, it pours. This describes Sheena Halili’s showbiz career. She is seen doing challenges in GMA 7’s Pinoy Records Saturdays, and she performs in S.O.P. Sundays. She recently wrapped up an episode for Dear Friend. Weeknights, you can catch her in Rosalinda as Becky, niece of the flower farm owner Florencio, and Rosalinda’s friend. Sheena is perhaps the most visible StarStruck babe to date.

“I’m thankful to GMA that I have never stopped working since Marimar,” offers Sheena. “I hope more projects will come my way.”

The young comedienne attributes her visibility and busy days to her character Monica in the Marian Rivera-Dingdong Dantes starrer. She was Katrina Halili’s scheming assistant/friend in Marimar, where she showed her potential in playing unpalatable, unpopular roles.

Monica made her land a role in Regine Velasquez’s Ako si Kim Sam Soon. Sheena played a chef who also vied for Kim Sam Soon’s love interest Cyrus essayed by Mark Anthony Fernandez. Televiewers also saw her recently in LaLola and Zorro.

By the way, Katrina, Rosalinda’s sister Fedra, graced the recent grand presscon of the primetime show but made an early exit, making everyone wonder why. Sheena couldn’t answer why Katrina left the event ahead of everybody nor confirm that her co-actor just avoided the press for interviews. But one thing is sure, Katrina had a hectic schedule that day, shares Sheena.

For Rosalinda, Sheena will wear her sweet, lovable personality.

“Rosalinda is the type who will stay calm and collected and do nothing when somebody steps on her toes,” says Sheena. “I’m the opposite. Don’t ever dare cross my character, she will fight back.”

What’s her biggest break? Sheena replied, “Marimar because it paved the way for me to see what I can do as an actor.”

Although her hands are full these days, Sheena never forgets to unwind, smell the roses and appreciate the simple, important things in life.

“I take a rest and sleep after taping,” shares the GMA Artist Center talent. “I attend Mass. I spend time with my family by dining out.”

Every working day, Sheena would travel from Pampanga to Manila and back. Her dad doesn’t allow Sheena to live alone in the city. After all, it feels good to see your loved ones after a day’s work.

That’s why there are times when Sheena stays at her handler’s house for a quick change and nap. She also wishes to have her own condo or townhouse to spare her from hitting the road often.

“I’m happy with the character roles I have been getting,” says Sheena. “But I also wish to play the lead. I think it’s every actor’s dream. I also want to do romantic comedy in the future.”
