BFF (Best Friends Forever), the first team up of Sharon Cuneta and Ai-Ai de las Alas, is a certified blockbuster. The movie directed by Wenn Deramas continues to rake it in at the box-office. Ai-Ai who earlier said that it is a dream come true to work with Sharon is extremely happy with the box-office results of the movie. “Sa lahat po ng sumuporta, maraming salamat po. At sana po napaligaya po namin kayo,” said Ai-Ai.
During the star-studded premiere of the movie, Star Cinema and ABS-CBN talents came full force to lend star power and support the movie. But what really caught the audience by surprise was Gabby Concepcion’s cameo appearance. At the end of the movie when Gabby turns around and shows his face, fans screamed. “Isa nga ako sa mga tumili. Mabuhay ang mga Sharon/Gabby moments,” said Ruffa Gutierrez.
With Gabby’s appearance in the movie, speculations are rife that a Sharon/Gabby reunion movie is in the offing. Because of this, people are asking, will the good Sen. Kiko Pangilinan consent to a Sharon/Gabby movie? And did Sharon ask permission from her husband for Gabby’s cameo appearance on BFF?
“May paalam namang mabuti sa asawa ko. Cool na cool yan. Pinagbigyan niya kami,” said Sharon. Asked if he was surprised to see Sharon and Gabby in a movie Sen. Kiko said, “Ah hindi. Alam ko na eh. Siempre pelikula yan kailangan matuwa ang ating manunuod so walang problema yon.”
Is a Sharon/Gabby full length movie possible? “I don’t want to think about it first. I don’t want to give people the wrong impression. At this point, I think that’s more than enough muna. Gabby deserves a comeback na siya lang talaga,” Sharon said.
Praying for a baby
Newlyweds Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo just came from their honeymoon in Boracay. Juday said that she is praying for a baby soon. Juday and Ryan were wed at a solemn ceremony in San Juan, Batangas with close friends and family members present. It was a dream wedding for Juday and Ryan. Kristine-Jericho reunion
Former lovers Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales are working together in the teleserye Dahil May Isang Ikaw. Echo and Tintin have not been in a movie or teleserye for the longest time since their break-up. Echo is now single and happy while Tintin is dating Oyo Boy Sotto. Will sparks fly again for Echo and Tintin? “Echo and I have not seen each other for a long time. But I am comfortable with him. I can understand his kakulitan. Hindi ako naiilang sa kanya. Lea, Kris for World Vision
Lea Salonga and Kris Aquino lend their celebrity power to World Vision by sponsoring scholarships for children. Lea was hailed Ambassador for Child Sponsorship while Kris donated a hundred thousand pesos for the education of 24 school children. “I have been supporting scholarships for World Vision. Ang ganda ng feeling na parang it costs P7,500 for the entire year pero may isang bata ka na napapag-aral. Last year, I had a total of 75 scholars.” Lea says, “I am thankful to World Vision for asking me to be Ambassador for Child Sponsorship. I am honored. Hopefully, we will get more sponsorships for more children in this country.”
Gantimpala auditions
Gantimpala Theater will hold auditions on May 25, 2 to 7 p.m. at the Rehearsal Hall of the Open Air Auditorium Building, in Luneta, Manila. Participants should bring a resumé plus two photos (close-up and full-body) and will be reading a portion of a script from the Four Filipino Classics Florante at Laura, Noli Me Tangere, Ibong Adarna and El Filibusterismo.
Gantimpala Theater is a 32-year-old theater company, headed by artistic director Tony Espejo, and has produced the Four Filipino Classics (Florante at Laura, Noli Me Tangere, Ibong Adarna and El Filibusterismo) and other contemporary dramas and children’s musicales.
Aside from the Four Classics, the company is also producing this year Thornton Wilder’s Our Town and J. Dennis Teodosio’s Cinderella.
