Charice graces Melawares' 30th-year bash

MANILA, Philippines – Charice will perform the Melawares jingle and other songs during the 30th-anniversary bash of Melawares, dubbed as Your Music on the Table, on Sunday, May 3, at SM Makati. The VIP event is co-presented with SM Home World.

“Charice’s stature as a global singing icon matches Melawares’ posititioning as world-class dinnerware, so having her endorse our product was a perfect complement,” says Josephine Mapanao, Sales Manager of CDC Manufacturing Corporation, producer of Melawares, and other top-of-the line kitchen products such as Bestware, Pefect Dining, and Urban Kitchen.

The official theme song of Melawares emerged from a company-wide competition which had entries from its main office, factories, and warehouses. The winning jingle was written and composed by the Meycauayan Warehouse Staff, lyrics of which focused on the quality of Melawares that is reliable and renowned here and abroad.

Special promotions have been launched in the various outlets of Melawares all over the Philippines in line with its 30th anniversary. A 10 percent discount is offered for all Melawares products for the whole month of May.

Between May 4 and 17, in time for the Mother’s Day celebration, customers who purchase a single receipt worth P2,000 of CDC Manufacturing products (such as Melawares, Bestware, Perfect Dining, and Urban Kitchen) get a free set of 30 years Melawares Collectible Edition dinnerware.

Meanwhile, Melawares will bring a lucky customer and a companion to Boracay for its Boracay Getaway with Melawares promo. Patrons who purchase a minimum of P500 are entitled to a raffle ticket. At stake is a grand prize of a round-trip ticket for two to Boracay, three-day/two-night accommodation at Real Maris, and P10,000 pocket money. Promo ends on May 31.

The brand Melawares covers lines of dinnerware which are melamine-based and manufactured in the Philippines. Thirty years ago, these food wares were imported from abroad by a family business staffed with just five people. It was only in 1980 when local production started and the term “Melawares” was coined, the first product and brand to be carried by the CDC Manufacturing Corporation, now the umbrella company to also produce and market other lines of dinner and kitchenware catering to different clientele.
