Body Talk with Jommy Teotico

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -

Prayer helped.

Before he went to Argentina with 11 other contestants (called participantes, chosen from a field of 1,000-plus applicants), Jommy Teotico did a panata (devotion) to the Black Nazarene in Quiapo and asked for guidance. It paid off. After one season of mind-boggling and physically-demanding challenges on the ABS-CBN dare-show Pinoy Fear Factor, Jommy, 25, emerged the champion and brought home P2-M at stake (less 20 percent for tax, net of P1.6-M), and a house and lot in Cavite.

“Our one-month stay in Argentina was a learning experience,” said Jommy, the youngest among three children (the two others are both girls) from Guagua, Pampanga. “It was my first trip abroad and I learned a lot.”

To win, Jommy and his competitors had to hurdle all kinds of challenges imaginable, including eating a tarantula, being buried in the sand and transferring with their mouths 300 cockroaches from one box to another.

“Yes,” assured Jommy, “all of us were insured.”

Now under contract with ABS-CBN, Jommy will debut as an actor in George & Cecil, the new ABS-CBN sitcom of newly-weds Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo (who was the host of Pinoy Fear Factor).

A Capricornian (Jan. 17), Jommy is a B.S. Management graduate from Lyceum; he finished elementary grades and high school at the Espiritu Santo Catholic School on Tayuman St., Sta. Cruz, Manila. Along with commercial model Jacq Yu, he’s the new endorser of Bobson Basics, the clothes line “that exemplifies the vibrant lifestyle and exciting aspirations of the young generation.”

He stands 5’8”, weighs 140 lbs., and wears medium-sized briefs, small-sized shirt and size-10 shoes.

How did you prepare for Pinoy Fear Factor?

“I worked out a lot. I saw the AXN version of Fear Factor and the participantes. I did dips, sit-ups and push-ups. Even when we were in Argentina, I continued to work out, jogging in the morning and more exercise before going to bed at night. Nagbaon ako ng jumping rope.”

Did you go on a special diet?

“No, I did not. I need food for the energy. I needed carbo to be burned during my workout.”

What kind of food do you avoid?

“Fatty and oily foods. When we came back from Argentina, I underwent laparoscopy on my gall bladder, that’s why I’m watching my cholesterol level.”

What do you usually have for breakfast?

“Vodka.”

What vitamins do you take?

“Multi-vitamins.”

How many girlfriends have you had so far?

“Paris.”

Who’s your favorite fantasy?

“Any Latina girl, like the girlfriend (Priscilla Meirelles) of John Estrada whom I saw during the recent Goma Cup Reunion in Boracay. She’s very pretty.”

Name three girls you think have nice bodies.

“Roxanne Guinoo. Carlene Aguilar whom I also saw in Bora, sexy pa rin kahit nanganak na. And Geneva Cruz na nasa Bora din.”

And three men...

“Marc Nelson. Robin Padilla. Piolo Pascual.”
