A struggle for truth, freedom

MANILA, Philippines - Proserfina, the country’s most talked about female character on TV today, will keep the viewers’ tears falling as she struggles for truth, freedom and family in GMA 7’s riveting drama titled Carlo J. Caparas’ Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang.

Played by Marian Rivera, Proserfina has been known as the mysterious, unconventional and feisty woman who turned the life of a young, wealthy businessman upside down. She has changed Homer (Dingdong Dantes) from someone living a monotonous life to somebody who discovers the true meaning of love, life and passion.

But Proserfina’s life is not as pleasing and free spirited as it seems to be because she grew up surrounded by heinous people. Because of her unusual situation, Proserfina’s ultimate dream is to be reunited with her family and live a normal and peaceful life.

But just like any other love story, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang has a dreadful villain — Rado (Paolo Contis), the new leader of the syndicate, which was found by Proserfina’s late father.

Rado is making Proserfina’s life miserable and even uses her brother Ulysses (Mart Escudero) as leverage to keep the young woman in his turf. Worse, Rado recently introduced to Proserfina and Ulysses, who were about to escape with the help of Homer, the woman he claimed to be their mother Selena (Jackie Lou Blanco).

Will Proserfina find out the truth that Selena is a sham, Rado’s victim who must pose as their mother in exchange for her own child’s life? Will this be the last straw that will urge Proserfina and her brother to escape?

But with Rado introducing Homer as the newest member of the group, will Proserfina’s plan to escape push through? Or will she rather stay behind and suffer just to be with Homer, the man she loves?
