Celebrities offered their time and effort for a good cause as they recently joined the Recycle Your Phone and Run by Nokia in cooperation with ABS-CBN’s Balls Channel at The Fort, Taguig.
Familiar faces like Gretchen Fullido, Jon Avila, Victor Basa, Robi Domingo, Sen Nichols, Juddha Paolo, Cheska Litton, Brent Javier and Jon Hall made time off from their busy schedules to participate in the fun run. The stars had to run either the 3k or 5k track around The Fort and they finished in impressive time.
“I think it’s cool that Balls Channel thought of this event to support recycling and by taking care of the environment.. I’m also glad I was able to finish the 5k run,” ex-PPB housemate and MYX VJ Robi shared.
A total of 415 runners registered for the event including men and women of all ages as well as teenagers and children. The oldest participant was aged 68 while the youngest was six, both winning a novelty prize.
Nokia recently promoted its local E-cycling program with ABS-CBN Bantay Kalikasan where for every kilo of raw materials collected, Nokia will donate to Bantay Kalikasan for the continued rehabilitation of the La Mesa Watershed.
For those who want to donate their old phones, batteries and accessories and help with the environmental cause, Nokia has collection bins in select malls and in the ABS-CBN building. Tune in to Balls Channel 34 for more updates and upcoming events.
