Kitkat: Don't be too trusting

On TV Patrol, comedienne Kitkat was literally weeping in pain when she talked about how she was duped by her boyfriend of six years. Her boyfriend allegedly stashed away her bank account, took her jewelry, and pocketed money intended for utility bills. Her boyfriend used to drive her to her tapings and shootings. He was also the one in-charge of paying the bills. “I was surprised that my line had been cut. Even BPI called me about my unpaid credit card. I was shocked.” Kitkat advises everyone “Don’t be too trusting. Even if you think you know the person.”

Pregnant & glamorous

You might be wondering how Hollywood queens, despite their pregnancy remain to be stylish and glamorous based on their paparazzi photos. Well wonder no more for you can easily look and feel every bit a celebrity mom with the launch of Anja, the most stylish made-for-pregnant women clothesline made specifically for the glowing Pinay mom.

Anja is a store devoted to dressing pregnant women in Greenbelt 5 that opened recently. It is touted to be the one-stop-shop for clothing needs of the picky and exacting moms-to-be. One can be as glamorous as Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Lopez wearing Anja creations…whether expecting twins or a single baby. Walking down the red carpet or down the hallway of one’s office will never be a fashion problem if one is pregnant.

Definitely no dowdy maternity dresses in Anja, only fashionable pieces waiting to be discovered.

Lessons from America

By now US president elect Barrack Obama would have met John McCain in Chicago. What they were to discuss was not publicly laid out. But what’s fascinating is watching American politicians exercise political maturity at a time when America is being debilitated by an economic hurricane. Sure, during the election, it looked like the two candidates would never agree on anything — especially if you were to base your views on the political ads of both camps in the last four weeks of the campaign. But these guys rise to the occasion.

McCain called Obama “My President” in his humbling, heartwarming concession speech. It is good for us that this happens in American politics. It can happen to ours. We should stop imitating the bad elements in American politics. Obama has just appointed Hillary Clinton Secretary of State. One pundit commented that it is indeed wise to keep your friends close to you, and your enemies even closer.

But whatever it is, Obama is certainly going to be the most closely watched global leader of his age. I remember the start of the race for the White House when he said that he wanted in his campaign respect, and no drama. The world is certainly glued to the stage where Obama rules dramatically.
