Sequels you can't have enough of

Sometimes, a movie just can’t have an ending — yet. Viewers seem to want more. They get so engaged in the movie they want it to continue further — coming up with the question “What’s next?” Thus, sequels are made to satisfy the viewers.

Get ready for some extended time movie watching. Here are some of the greatest movie sequels one shouldn’t miss:

Star Wars (three prequels and two sequels). The film has become a phenomenon for almost all generations since it started in 1977. It popularized such characters as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, R2D2, Yoda, Princess Leia, Chewbacca among others; portrayed by various actors such as Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman and more.

Rocky (five sequels). Rocky Balboa, the screen’s boxing sensation,   inspired viewers by his willingness to win and accept defeat as well. It stars Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. The movie and its sequels are definitely for fighters of the ring and, of course, for others who keep on fighting life’s trials. 

Indiana Jones (two sequels and one new). Being an adventurer runs in the family. The Indiana Jones sequels show just how inclined the Joneses are when it comes to history and finding the truth about it. It started from Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade. This year, the Joneses returned to bring us to the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Back to the Future (two sequels). First they went to the past, then they went to the future, and finally they went to a more distant past — what’s next? Who could ever forget the time traveling adventures of Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) and Marty Mc Fly (Michael J. Fox)? The trilogy made people wonder about the possibility of time travel and how fun it can be. Until now, movie fans await if there will still be a third sequel.

Terminator (two sequels and one upcoming). John Connor (Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl) is being hunted by future beings all his life; before he was born, during his teenage years and even now that he’s an adult. He is protected by a Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who was originally assigned to kill him in the beginning. “Violent but interesting” is how one can describe Terminator films. That’s why it never fails to create impact among viewers. Be ready for a new sequel.

The Godfather (two sequels). The trilogy that follows the rise and fall of a Mafia family — the Corleones. The first was the father as the Mafia’s head, then it was the reluctant son’s turn to be the boss, and finally the fall of the Corleones. It is a drama and action movie that has a powerful cast that includes Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro (as Don Vito), Al Pacino (Michael), Robert Duvall (Tom Hagen) and more.     

Die Hard (three sequels). Officer John McClane (Bruce Willis) just has a certain attraction with terrorists. He always gets involved with their businesses and ends up being the target. His luck and long life just irritates his enemies. He survived the Nakatomi Bldg. incident, the airport chaos, hunting for bombs in New York, and fourthly, saving US from a computer base terrorist. No wonder the title is Die Hard.

Pirates of the Caribbean (two sequels). The ending always seems to be not an ending, making the viewers expect another sequel. The movie appeals not only to kids but also to adults; which brings back the whole family into more adventures with Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley) and Capt. Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). Will there be a third sequel? Seems like there is.

Jaws (three sequels). In the movie world, who are the famous and scariest creatures of the sea? Definitely, one of the answers would be Jaws, the big and ferocious shark. It all started in 1975, which starred Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Shaw and Roy Scheider. The movie and its sequels created not only panic in the big screen but also to its viewers. People started to have a feeling that whenever they are at sea, Jaws might be coming to get them.

The Mummy (one sequel and the second coming soon). First they accidentally woke up a mummy, then they needed to wake up the same mummy. Now, a second sequel is coming up to surprise viewers for another Egyptian adventure. The movie changed the traditional mummy, who walks in covered cloth, into a new generation mummy with great powers. Truly, couple Rick (Brendan Fraiser) and Evelyn O’ Connel (Rachel Weisz and Maria Bello) have a way in dealing with mummies.
