SIZZLING HOT - Juliana Palermo - The Philippine Star

The beauty of writing is that most of time, opinions expressed on paper come from the heart, because once the flow gets going, you can never stop.

I could never call my position as a writer a “job,” just because I love it so much and do it nearly every single day.

I am so attached to writing it has become a huge part of my life. If you haven’t tried putting thoughts into paper, well you should, because there’s nothing to lose.

You’ll be surprised to meet the artistic side of you who might actually have a passion for something you never thought you had.

Reading some of my past thoughts either brings me back to this harsh reality or take me far away into this perfect place I wished this world would be.

I remember how many people questioned me and my writing. The thing is, I believe writing is a matter of keeping the reader glued to your work from beginning to end.

Sometimes we come across certain writing styles writing that require way too much thinking and end up feeling mentally tired as if we read a whole book even though it was only a page and a half.

Reading is supposed to be fun and relaxing, unlike the weather these days that just make us feel sluggish and wanting to stay in a room with a huge aircon set to turbo.

But life goes on. Unless we’re hanging around some place breezy, it’s almost impossible to appreciate the humid climate.

This type of weather has been very exhausting. I’m seriously feeling like I need to hit the beach or go somewhere far away from the city!

It is so hot, I’m wish there was a huge swimming pool in the middle of the city and everyone can just walk around in his or her swimwear.

It’s as good as summertime every single day all througout the year. You only notice it more when your doubled up electric bills comes because your air-condition runs literally all day, everyday.

Though the heat makes us want to stay home, there are a lot of things we can do during summertime.

If there’s such a thing as “New Year’s Resolution,” well then let’s make a “summer resolution” for those who haven’t fulfilled their new year’s promises.

It’s never too late to hit the gym for a good workout. Take classes and maybe learn a new language over the summer .

If you have all the time in the world, why not volunteer at some facility and take part in making this world a better place?

Going on a vacation and hitting the beach would be wonderful as well. Funny how I just recently learned that using sunscreen can also be harmful to our skin.

Potentially deadly skin cancer is not exactly caused by the sun, but by artificial chemicals around us.

Exposure to the sun is (from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.), in fact, is very healthy because it ‘s the only way our body can convert and use vitamin D.

Moderation is the key to healthy living. Some wonder how celebrities keep their skin looking young. I’ve asked a few who gave me the same answer, by using “ natural body scrubs” once a week.

Lacto-fermented product intake can also be very beneficial not only for our digestive system but for our skin.

Rather than pigging out on regular ice cream, low-fat and food from natural ingredients are always best.

For some women who are used to wearing heavy make-up, this is the perfect time to let our skin just relax and breathe.

Too much make-up exposed to heat can also easily cause breakouts.

Another perfect thing to do this summer is to hit the cinemas and maybe do a movie marathon, if you’ve got a whole day to spare.

There’s nothing better than being inside the cool, cozy place and not get over-exposed to the sun.

We all should make it a point to keep on moving no matter what the weather is and what environment we’re in. Basically, it’s all about making the most of our time and bringing out the best of what we got.

Have a great week ahead!
