She reveals, "We accept it as a reality that our time will be consumed by other things. So we set priorities but on top of all these is our family." Maricel believes the ideal way to teach children is through consistent example and the values you want to inculcate in them are best imbibed during moments of togetherness.
As such, no matter how busy they become, Maricel and husband Anthony always devote time for the whole family and for each of their children – Ella, Donny, Hannah and Benjamin. They also allocate time to nurture their relationship as a couple. Individual time spent with each child is an opportunity for both of them to know their kids intimately. Maricel explained that by being involved in their kids’ world, parents will be able to understand and better relate to them.

Maricel shared more parenting tips during the Parenting Roadshow, a series of parenting seminars spearheaded by (Paracetamol) Biogesic for Kids and The Parenting Company. This project ran from October to early December. It has toured in seven schools across Metro Manila, educating parents on various topics such as parenting young children; communication, that promotes learning and builds self-esteem; basic first aid for children and how to make a healthy family.
Aimed to spread the gospel of responsible and effective parenting, the Parenting Roadshow featured Maricel as its lead resource speaker, joined by Anthony Pangilinan; The Parenting Company’s Health and Medical Consultant, Dr. Donna Simpao; as well as Retreat and Seminar Counselor, Felichi Buizon. They have conducted the seminars in Makati Elementary School, East Rembo Elementary School, Nemesio Yabut Elementary School, Palanan Elementary School and Maria Montessori Foundation, among others.
