Who is Juliana’s ‘stalker’?

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -
Who could be "stalking" Juliana Palermo?

Everywhere she goes these days, Juliana turns this way and that, looking at her back once too often, feeling as if somebody is following her, watching her every step. Is Juliana simply feeling paranoid?

Not at all. Somebody is, indeed, "stalking" her, distracting her work and other daily activities.

Two days ago, a Funfare DPA said, "Juliana was taping at the GMA Studio and somebody informed her that her ‘stalker’ was waiting for her at the parking lot. The other day, Juliana was entering the GMA premises for her guesting stint on Eat, Bulaga and guess who she bumped into – her ‘stalker’!"

Of course, Juliana knows who her "stalker" is but she won’t identify him just yet (even if she and her manager might have the name of the "stalker" listed on the police blotter anytime now).

Could the "stalker" be any of Juliana’s former boyfriends (take note: plural)? One of them, according to the Funfare DPA, "is a Mama’s Boy who won’t as much as cut his nails without asking his mom’s permission."

Why, did Juliana break up with him (so she could devote full time to her rudely-interrupted career) against his wishes?

A piece of advice to Jualiana: Never go out alone. Times are risky, you know. Mahirap na.
G. Tongi in L.A. Musical
Eyebrows soared when Funfare reported several issues ago that G Tongi was playing the lead role in a musical which is opening at the American Renegade Theater (North Hollywood) in Los Angeles on Friday, April 23. Luckily, the Funfare source furnished me a copy of the musical’s flyer as "proof."

The musical is entitled The Days When Cocaine Was King, written and directed by John J. Fanelli, with music and lyrics by The Larrys. It will run for six weeks, G herself told me at the Cow Palace (in San Francisco) where she performed at the 10th-anniversary show of the ABS-CBN Global Limited’s The Filipino Channel (TFC).

"It’s a hilarious comedy," said G, "a rock ‘n roll musical. I play Juanita, a Latina salsa dancer, complete with accent and attitude. I’m excited because it’s my stage debut in Hollywood."

G has been quietly rehearsing for the musical during breaks from her work as a waitress at a Thai restaurant in L.A. (I must point out that being a waitress is nothing to be embarrassed about; aspiring actors in Hollywood take on odd jobs while waiting for big breaks.)

Actually, G keeps a low profile while doing showbiz-related work. She flew to Sanfo for the TFC show from Hawaii where she did "a shoot."

Said G, "There’s a possibility for Cocaine to go national, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. This is the big break I’ve long been waiting for."

The day after the TFC show, G went to Sonoma for horseback-riding and wine-tasting.

"I need a break," she said, "before I go back to L.A. for the musical’s six-week run."
Why Willie’s ABC Show Was Delayed
No truth to the rumor that Willie Revillame’s weekly ABC 5 show, Puso O Pera, was scrapped even before it could get off the launching pad.

Directed by Al Quinn with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) as major sponsor, Puso O Pera will finally have its premier telecast Tuesday (April 27) next week, 7 to 8 p.m.

Willie said that he did tape a pilot show (with guests Hajji Alejandro, Niño Muhlach, Alma Concepcion and Maricel Morales) but only P200,000 of the allotted weekly P8-million prize money was won. So another "pilot" was taped with another set of star contestants.

"We have to give away the P8 million every week," said Willie who hosted a similar game show on his former ABS-CBN show MTB.

I won’t spoil the fun by describing in detail the mechanics of the show. Watch it yourself and find out.

It was Willie himself who picked his co-hosts, Patricia Javier and Maui Taylor.

Meanwhile, Willie is still busy promoting his hit Universal Records album Pito-Pito, the rights to which was bought for reportedly P500,000 by the administration team for use as a campaign jingle.
