I have my own K List
February 28, 2003 | 12:00am
I asked Korina in a previous piece to list her "favorites". Its my turn , and I apologize for being an "Oprah" clone, since she has her "O List" on her magazine, but this is my version of my "K List". I took the pictures of the products personally, so please bear with them being not of professional caliber.
Favorite cologne or perfume: Moschino Leau Cheap and Chic, because it is pleasant and almost baby powder like; Dolce & Gabbana light blue because its a nice fruity-musk; and Gucci Rush when I want something stronger and bolder.
Favorite song: Regine Velasquezs version of Ogie Alcasids Pangako, when Im in a good emotional state because it speaks clearly of the promise of lasting love; Regine Velasquezs Dadalhin, when Im emotionally disturbed because it speaks eloquently of the joys of believing in loves promises as well as the pain felt when those promises are disappointingly unfulfilled. Both of these songs are included in her Greatest Hits: An -Audio-Visual Anthology CD-VCD package.
In my van, since it seems Im forever on the road, going from one appointment to the next, the following CDs are in rotation in my CD changer, Avril Lavignes Let Go, Pinks Missundaztood, Jennifer Lopezs This Is Me Then, Zsa Zsa Padillas Mahal Kita Walang Iba, Enrique Iglesias Escape, Craig Davids Slicker Than Your Average, and Jennifer Lopezs J to the LO the Remixes.
Favorite clothing brands: For personal casual wear, French Connection, the brand with the FCUK logo (unfortunately not available locally); for jeans Seven and for shirts worn on television Custo Barcelona (Seven and Custo are available in Wish boutique in Makati Shangri-La); for slacks, Maxstudio, for dressy separates, Vivienne Tam. (Mix in Greenbelt 3 carries Maxstudio and Vivienne Tam.)
The two Filipino designers who currently dress me regularly are JC Buendia for my suits and semi-formal pieces, and Rajo Laurel for my gowns.
Favorite semi-precious stone: Rose Quartz, because they say it enhances and inspires love.
Favorite makeup remover: Shu Uemura Skin Purifier. This is pricey. Yet worth it because it really gets rid of every last trace of my heavy television and filming makeup.
Favorite indulgence food: Nestlé Crunch Pieces because just a fistful can already give me my chocolate "fix"; and Calbee Hot and Spicy potato chips because it has the right spiciness to really wake up my taste buds when Im craving something "salty". Most big, chain supermarkets carry these two food items. I stocked up on the Nestlé Crunch Pieces in Pure Gold, when I visited one of the duty free shops inside Subic, since I finished shooting early and made it to the store an hour before they closed. Calbee potato chips, which are Japanese in origin, but are prepared and packed in Hong Kong, Ive found regularly in Hi-Top Supermarket which is near ABS CBN, and at Rustans in Shangri-La Mall.
Favorite work "baon": General Foods International Coffees Suisse Mocha, Café Francais, and Hazelnut Belgian Café flavors; and M.Y. San Grahams Honey graham crackers. This is the coffee I drink in my mug while doing Morning Girls live on weekday mornings and throughout the lulls in shooting, and I munch on these crackers when hunger pangs start to strike.
