Pulp magazine welcomes 2002 with a real bang!

-
Pulp magazine, the country’s biggest and loudest music magazine, caps an amazing second year and jumpstarts 2002 with a very exciting issue. Featuring a foreign band on the cover for the first time, Pulp scores an exclusive interview with Linkin Park, one of the most popular groups in the world whose album, Hybrid Theory, continues to top sales and radio charts everywhere. Linkin Park also happens to be one of the popular feature requests from readers and as a bonus, limited edition posters are inserted in the magazine for lucky buyers.

For an alternate cover, local rap-metal band Chicosci appears on the Jan-Feb double issue cover with one of Pulp’s strongest image to date. Chicosci has just released their new album entitled Method of Breathing, and Pulp talks to the young band about their story so far. And as added treat to rap-metal fans, Pulp shacks up with Slapshock to capture the band’s songwriting process and comes away with exclusive photos of Slapshock in their most relaxed – in the womb of their communal house-cum-studio in Bliss. Also highlighting the new issue is a special behind-the-scenes look at The Freak Show, Pulp’s second-anniversary concert and by far the biggest concert to cap off 2001.

Also in the issue are features on the Jag/RX 93 Band Breakout winners, Ascension and Mayflower, and a look at the downloading culture in the country, featuring a roster of bands like Dicta License, COG, Zooom and DTS, whose songs are available for download through the website mp3.com. Read up on hot R&B/soul artist Lenny Kravitz and funk-soul singer Macy Gray as they share their thoughts about their latest albums.

Regular columns like Grassroots by Igan D’Bayan, I Wanna Be a Rock Star by Joey Dizon and Inside Music by Ramon Zialcita are filled with music news and views for the serious music reader while MetroKat by Kathy Chua Chiaco reports on favorite hangouts and what makes them interesting.

Pulp Style
provides a cutting edge look at contemporary fashion scene and Pulp Skin bares titillating images captured in that signature visual style of Pulp (also included are limited edition Jag calendars of Pulp Skin beauties you can pin on your walls).

Other regular sections like Letters and Reviews upholds Pulp’s constant communication with its readers and solidifies its commitment to providing intelligent fodder for music fans and avid readers.

Pulp
magazine is available for free at Tower Records for a minimum purchase of only P250. It sold in all National Bookstore branches, magazine stands and other outlets nationwide for only P100.
