ARQ Sports, Omega Boxing kick off historic alliance in Tuburan today
CEBU, Philippines — ARQ Sports and Omega Boxing will kick off their historic alliance with a nine-bout show wrapped in the highly anticipated “Kumbati 15” fight card today at the Tuburan Sports Complex in Tuburan, Cebu.
Omega’s bantamweight contender Benny “The Bull” Cañete from Siquijor will headline the first ever collaboration of the two promotional giants in Cebu.
Cañete (8-1, 6KOs) will face acid test against the veteran Jun “The Blaze” Blazo (16-7-3, 12KOs) of Hilongos, Leyte.
Two other Omega fighters will see action in the slambang event in Mark “Rasta Mac” Vicelles and Ramil Roda.
Vicelles (17-1, 10KOs), who lost to Reggie “The Phenom” Suganob via sixth round technical decision in their IBF light flyweight title eliminator last February 25 in Calape, Bohol, will tackle Ronald Alapormina of Manila, while Roda, a super flyweight upstart, will go up against Kier Teregossa.
In the other featured bouts, five ARQ ring gladiators in Ramil Macado (7-0, 3KOs), Berland Robles (9-0, 4KOs), Ian Paul Abne (9-0, 4KOs), Riel Gabunilas (2-0), and Rodel Wenceslao (19-19-2, 8KOs) will strut their wares against separate opponents.
Macado locks up horns with journeyman Mike Kinaadman (8-21-2, 6KOs), Robles trades punches with Renoel Pael (23-14-1, 12KOs), Ian Abne clashes with Jeven Villacite (6-5-5), Gabunilas squares off against Rustom Sario, while Wenceslao battles against Ryan Maano (6-17-2, 2KOs).
In the other match, Japanese Kakeru Mashimo mixes it up with Marjun Piencenaves.
