Historic Resort City Marathon set Nov. 14
CEBU, Philippines - After last year's successful staging, the second edition of the Historic Resort City Marathon is set to take place on November 14 starting and ending at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall grounds.
Aside from being an event for fitness, Lapu-Lapu City government also wants to use the marathon as a way to promote the city’s branding name and logo for global prominence being a city with beautiful beaches and resorts together with its historical richness.
The 42K will start around midnight. Assembly time is scheduled 10 am of November 14.
The 21K action is scheduled to kick off at 2 am while 10K is scheduled to start at 5 am as 5K runners will follow 15 minutes later.
Lapu-lapu City Runners' Club decided to do it at night to early morning to avoid traffic congestion.
Registration has already started until October 31. Entry fee is pegged at P550 for the 5K, P650 for the 10K, P1,200 for the 21K and P1,500 for the 42K division.
Entry forms are available at Planet Sports at Ayala Center Cebu and Pueblo Verde, Beauche' International at Tamiya in Brgy.Basak, Lapu-Lapu and at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall. (FREEMAN)
