Babolat junior netfest set this weekend

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano netters brace for a busy weekend with the staging of the Babolat Junior Tennis Circuit II in two separate venues.

The boys division will be played at the Cebu International Tennis Centre, Inc. (CITCI) courts, while the girls action will be at the Mactan Island Tennis Club (MITC) in Lapu-Lapu City.

Ken Salimbangon of CITCI said they are utilizing two venues as they are expecting a huge turnout of entries considering that the event features the singles and doubles competition. All age brackets except the 16-under will have a doubles category.

Sponsored by Techo Sports Inc., the exclusive distributor of Babolat tennis equipment, the two-day tilt is aimed at discovering young talented players, according to Babolat President Gullermo Nucom.

For those who have not yet registered, the organizers are giving interested players until 12 noon today to enlist. The orded of play will be posted on Friday at the tournament venues. (FREEMAN)
