CEBU, Philippines - Multi-titled Davaoeño rider Kimboy Pineda led the cast of winners during Round 7 of the 1st Keiz BJ Motors and Phoenix Cyclomax Titan Motocross Series last Sunday at the specially-designed racetrack in Brgy. Pagsabungan, Mandaue City.
Pineda displayed suave driving skills to reign supreme in the premiere expert division as Jovie Saulog and Juvenile Abellar took the second and third place, respectively. Completing the top six finishers were Cyril Tariman, Donky Sanchez and Martin Nunez.
The promising Ornopia siblings Brylle and Keizer caught part of the spotlight after topping their respective categories as well as Russell Gungob.
Brylle Ornopia ruled the mini class 85cc over Denmar Supatan and Gyles Aguilar, while the younger Keizer dominated the peewee class after edging out his brother Ken and Froilan Mendaros.
Gungob, on the other hand, took home a pair of championship trophies. He won in the executive selection limited edition over Rocky Coca and Jun Enriquez and in the executive A after beating Jun Enriquez and James Duroy.
James Mayol, on the other hand, lorded it over in the local enduro after outsmarting Ray Quirol and Alex Abalo.
Quirol though still has something to be proud of as he came out the fastest in the beginners open production. Mayol placed second followed by Risty de la Calzada.
JP Cuesta emerged as the top finisher in the beginners selection limited edition followed by Risty de la Calzada and Brylle Ornopia, while Peewee Galea stole the show in the mini class 65cc after fending off Tammy Lagrosa and RK Cuesta.
The top three placers in the executive B were Amay Amon, James Duroy and Titing Sicad.
Organized by Keiz BJ Motors big boss Seigfred Ornopia, the one-day race was a huge success through the support of sports patron Engr. Jun Mahusay and his family, Pagsabungan Brgy. Capt. Andres Suson, Hon. Asterio “Bubbles” Suson and the rest of the Pagsabungan barangay officials.
The event was also being held in partnership with Bentoval Ready Concrete, Engr. Juanito Gerona, Roel Marano, Edmund Pingkian, Geoffrey Vinalon, Jeffrey Basalo, Reynante Tigue, Haojue Philippines, RMO Motor Parts and Motolite. - THE FREEMAN
