FCIC upsets Hiroshi FC in Inter-Club footballfest

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - Football Club Inter-Cebu (FCIC) stunned one of the early title favorites, Hiroshi FC, via a 3-2 squeaker in the men’s open division of the 12th CAFC Inter-Club Football Cup yesterday at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center field in Brgy. Talamban, this city.

Hiroshi sank the first goal behind the efforts of Rogelio Castellon with just 40 seconds gone by in the match, but FCIC retaliated through Robert Sete at the 19th minute.

John Michael Flores unfortunately converted an own goal at the 45th for the benefit of FCIC, 2-1.

Hiroshi fired back with John Rey Nieves finding the back of the net to knot that count at 2-all at the break.

The FCIC mainstays, however, proved that even without Flores’ own goal, it was really their day when they knocked in another goal courtesy of Kenny Sete at the 80th.
