Andrin sisters, Kenyans shine in JCI footrace
CEBU, Philippines - The Andrin sisters Lovely, Jhean and Cherry had another great Sunday, even as the Kenyans stamped their respective classes anew in the JCI Run starting and ending at Plaza Independencia yesterday.
It was a clean sweep by the Andrins in the women's 6K action, with Lovely coming out the fastest in 25 minutes and 1.39 seconds followed by Jhean (25:30.05) and Cherry (25:40.07).
As expected, Kenya's Abram Missos reigned in the men's 6K division with the time of 19:22.21. Joel Delposo placed second in 20:05, while Bonifacio Monjas copped the third place honors in 20:07.35.
The men's 12K battle was also dominated by the Kenyans led by Josphat Too with the time of 39:26.27. Francis Kakoi wound up second in 40:11.10 followed by Douglas Mwiti in 40:44.13.
In the distaff side, Cristy Sevilleno-Tutor took home the crown in 54:36.90.
Madelyn Carter claimed the second place trophy in 54:36.90, while Joery Lee landed at third in 54:37.10.
Robert Daang and Aiza Suaybaguio topped the 3K run.
Daang ruled the men's class in 11:42.24 followed by John Cliff Debulosan (12:20.78) and Brende Codera (12:45.51), while Suaybaguio lorded it over in the women's category with the time of 15:11.03 followed by Julie Cardenas (22:03) and Juliet Baltisamo (22:10.05). - THE FREEMAN
