Queen City guns for win 2 in UFL

CEBU, Philippines - The Queen City United FC hopes to notch back-to-back wins as it takes on the Sunken Garden FC today in the second division of the United Football League (UFL) at the Bonifacio Global City pitch.

The Cebuano booters are riding on the crest of their morale-boosting 5-1 victory over the Dolphins United FC, 5-1, last week. In contrast, the Sunken Garden lost to Team Socceroo, 6-2.

Against the Sunken Garden, QCU's representative Glen Quisido said they could not be overconfident as anything could happen in football.

"The teams are also unpredictable in the second division," said Quisido.

QCU currently holds an even 2-2 win-loss record spiked with one draw, while the Sunken Garden scored only one win so far against four defeats.

“We have high hopes that we can score another win tomorrow (today), but di lang gyud ta mokumpiyansa kay maski pag unsay ilang standing, di gyud ta kaingon ug kita nay daug. Siyempre, maninguha gyud ta,” Quisido said.

Aside from coming off a resounding triumph, QCU heads into the battle with extra strength because of the return of their three key players in forward Junard Aguilar, defender Adlai Marcel Rivera and midfielder Julius Arce. (FREEMAN)
