CEBU, Philippines - With limited manpower, Cebu Blue Marlins landed only at third place overall in the first leg of the 2011 Speedo G-League Visayas Area Meet in Dumaguete City.
Had the medal haul been used in determining the top winners, CBM, powered by the University of Cebu tanker, would have emerged champion after carting away 43 golds, 15 silvers and 19 bronzes as host Silliman University Red Snappers only got 26 golds, 29 silvers and 22 points
Unfortunately based on points, CBM only got a total of 714 behind host Silliman University Red Snappers, who tallied 945 points followed by Negros Oriental Blue Dolphins Swim Club with 865 points.
UC’s Aaron Grant Embuscado and Rommylin Niña Ignacio bagged five golds each, Tristan Kirk Ebon, Michael Ichiro Kong and Danielle Mae Ballesteros raked in four golds each while Bethmay Arellano, Razel Cabajar and Trina Cañeda contributed three golds apiece.
