CEBU, Philippines - Huge prizes amounting to over half million pesos are up for grabs in the 1st Y101 Armscor Run set on July 24 at the Asiatown I.T. Park in Brgy. Apas, this city.
A 1911A1 classic 9MM pistol, a pink Tanfolio 22 caliber, an air rifle and an airsoft rifle will be given away to the top runners in the 10.1-kilometer race.
For the those who aspire to snatch the bounty, they have to deal a 100-meter military obstacle course.
For those who opt to veer away from the obstacle course, another 10.1 kilometer action is also set for men and women with different set of prizes including a trip to Boracay for two with three days and two nights accommodation, a Myphone touchscreen cellphone and a Philips gogear vibe aside from the cash prizes at stake in the top three finishers.
On top of the cash prize, the the fastest 10.1K runner will get a new Zongshen 110cc motorcycle. This is open for either that with a military obstacle course or just the plain 10.1K run.
Those who are not fast enough, participants can still get a chance to go home with prizes as a 110cc Zongshen motorcycle, an Armscor 1911 A1 classic .45 caliber pistol, a Philips audio dvd component system and a hundred other freebies will be raffled off.
Armscor’s Joel Concepcion said,the pistols won will be given only when it’s already licensed.
“With all these, it makes this event the biggest and most exciting fun run here,” said Y101 president and CITOM chief Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem during a press conference yesterday at Parklane Hotel.
“We’re planning to make this annual event. In the next race, we can have special prizes for those who can break the record,” Jakosalem added.
Registration fee is pegged at P300 inclusive of a singlet, a race bib and refreshments. Entry forms are available at the Cebu City Sports Center, Runnr in Ayala and at the Y101 studios located at the second floor of Gaisano Country Mall. - THE FREEMAN
