Cebuano wrestler hopes to rejoin national team

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano Luis Ansag hopes to regain his slot in the Philippine wrestling team when he competes in the National Senior Wrestling Championships on July 29 to 30 in Manila.

The event will be played in two venues. The Greco-Roman competition will take place at Mall of Asia’s Activity Center as part of the Adidas Martial Arts Festival, while the freestyle, in which Ansag will be taking part, will be at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex’.

It serves as the final qualifying round for PHL's representatives to the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia.

Ansag has already produced several medals for PHL in international battles until he left the country for a short stay in Canada a few years back. (FREEMAN)
