Dacaldacal, Garrido earn slots to Tagbi novice swimfest

CEBU, Philippines - After making waves in Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) Summer Swimming Camp, Rafael John Dacaldacal and Justine Reign Garrido earned the right to represent the City in a novice swimming competition this June 3 in Tagbiliran City.

Dacaldacal secured five golds in the 15-above category during the culminating activity of the month-long camp last Sunday at the CCSC Aquatic Center. He lorded it over in the 25m freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, dog paddle swim and in the flutter with kickboard.

Garrido, on the other hand, bagged three golds in the 25m freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke events under the 9-11 years old bracket. She also had two silvers in the dog paddle swim and flutter kick.

Jehaosh Reign Garrido hauled five golds in the 25m freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, back glide with flutter kick and 12.5m dog paddles in the 7-8 category. Joel Lacanaria got one gold in the 25m breast stroke under 12-14 division.

In the distaff side, Aprille Dominique Serrano raked in three golds in the 25m freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke and a silver in the 25m flutter kick with board.

Cassandra Saravanan produced four golds in the 25m flutter kick, dog paddle swim and freestyle as well as in the 12.5m backstroke of the 7-8 class. She got silvers in the 25m backstroke and breast stroke.

In the 12-14 class, Kaye Kristine Sy dominated the 25m flutter kick with board. She also picked four silvers in 25m dog paddle swim.

Ann Dominique Sy had two golds in the 25m freestyle and butterfly events, while Adrien Leigh Serrano took home a gold in the paddle swim.
