CEBU, Philippines - It's going to be a loaded weekend for runners here in Cebu with several events set to take place.
Tomorrow, the Marie Ernestine Jubilee Run will start and finish at Ayala Center-Cebu's Terraces wherein over a thousand runners are expected to see action.
On Sunday, there are four events scheduled -- the Omega Pain Killer Extreme Challenge in Boljoon, Ced-fit's Run for IT, Diabetes Month Fun Run, and the PWD Run, Walk and Roll.
So far, this Sunday schedule is the most hectic one beating the previous record of three running events in one day.
The Omega Pain Killer Extreme Challenge is one of several sporting activities in line with Boljoon's fiesta celebration and a fund-raising activity of the Boljoon Heritage Foundation.
The Cedfit Run for IT, on the other hand, will take place at Asiatown IT Park in Apas wherein BPO and call center employees, information technology students from different schools here are expected to join.
Differently-abled athletes will also strut their wares with the staging of the Persons With Disability Run, Walk and Roll starting at the Capitol building grounds and end at the Cebu City Sports Center.
This event is actually a two-part event with this Sunday's action featuring a run, walk and wheel-chair action while the second part set November 30 will have the 5 and 10-kilometer runs.
A fun run in celebration of the diabetes month is also posted in several running sites earlier, but the venue had not been finalized still as off this writing.
The rest of the running events set in the month of November include the Eco Dash: Ayala Mall Run dubbed the Bottle School Run at ACC's Terraces on November 14 followed by the MO Plus Run on the 21st, Cebu UltraMarathon on the 27th from Mt. Manunggal to Capitol and the 5th Seminary Fund Run on the 28th. (THE FREEMAN)
