Nine teams to join Consolacion fiesta football tourney

CEBU, Philippines - A total of nine teams will vie for top honors in the 1st Engineer's Fiesta Cup Football Festival nine-a-side at the Sta Lucia grounds in Consolacion today.

These are the Queen City United, Barili Football Club, Count Football Club with two squads, SRRU, University of San Carlos Boys High, Promisimo, Danao Football Club, Sambag 1, Happy Feet United and the San Roque Football Club.

Aside from the 9-a-side action, there will also be a men’s open battle following an 11-a-side format beginning tomorrow.

The other categories being featured include the players 6, 8, 10, 14, girls 17, 38-above and the inter-company.

The event is under the sports development program of Consolacion Mayor Teresa Pepito Alegado and Vice Mayor Rey Damole through the efforts of Engr. Nilo Ferraren, the municipal council's committee chairman on games and amusements. (FREEMAN SPORTS)
