Alta Vista Golf and Country Club: David Park leads October winners

CEBU, Philippines – Teenager David Park, who is still riding on his success in the recent Cebu leg of the Santa Lucia Golf Tour, once again stamped his class by topping class A of the October Monthly Medal of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club last weekend.

Park fired even-par 72 strokes off nines of 33 and 39 to take the lowest gross honors for the premiere handicap category.

The lowest net plum for class A went to Jufil Sato with 71. Sato was also a winner in the Cebu leg of the Golf Tour, but he donned the colors of Royale Tagaytay. Runner-up honors went to Alex Yeo with 72 strokes.

The class B lowest gross title went to Loloy Sabuga.

Koko Holganza fired 69 strokes off a gross 86 to win the lowest net honors for the category. Runner-up honors went to Eddie Manzano with a net score of 70.

Willy Go, the chairman of the monthly medal committee, bagged the low gross honors for class C.

The lowest net award for the category went to Michael Lim with 74 while Ding Abay-abay took the runner-up honors with 75.

The seniors' division lowest gross plum went to Boy Gonzalez with 84 strokes edging Bobby Barria in the countback.

The lowest net winner for the 55 years old and up class went to Ed Sy with 68 edging Philip Huang in the countback. Huang settled for the runner-up honors.

The ladies title went to Choi Yi Hwa with a gross score of 86.

Ted Almario pulled past Satoru Hara and Guilbert Purcia in the countback to win the guest division title with a net score of 74. Hara settled for the runner-up honors.

Alex Yeo was nearest to the pin on hole number 6 leaving nine feet for a birdie putt.

The most accurate drive on hole number 11 was made by Loloy Sabuga, whose ball landed four inches from the center line. (FREEMAN)
