UV, USJ-R word wizards dominate CESAFI scrabble tournament
CEBU, Philippines - The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Wizards claimed their fifth straight title in the collegiate division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) scrabble tournament at the UV CRID room.
UV, manned by Jowar Ayuno, Joy Policher, Villagonzalo, Mae Acasili, Khiel Labalan, Jerusalem Garbo and Joe Saphate, posted a total of 12 wins.
Ayuno also had the highest single game with 707 points and highest single move for the word “Olearias” that earned him 122 points.
Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) placed second with 10 wins followed by the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) with 8.5 wins.
USJ-R though topped the secondary level with 22 wins.
The USJ-R squad is powered by Nathalie Cabaluna, Milleferiren Rodriguez, Orgie Albaño, Derold Nick Dampios, Joseph Argel Katipunan and Phil Robert Figues.
Albaño got the highest single game with 650 points, while Paul James Libron of CIT-U got the highest single move in the word “Pelvics” worth 112 points.
UV landed at second place with 18 wins and CIT-U third with 15 wins.
