CEBU, Philippines - Marcelo Tan and Eric Deen stamped their class to bag the top honors in the 12th UBS Annual Golf Tournament played at the Cebu Country Club.
Tan scored a gross 84 and less his handicap of 24 strokes finished with a tournament-best net score of 60 strokes.
Deen won the lowest gross honors shooting three-under-par 69 strokes after pulling past Bayani Garcia in the countback.
Evans Tualiwan topped class A with a net score of 64 strokes off a gross 71. Second place for the premiere handicap class went to Efren Sarmiento with a net score of 65.
Jufil Sato bagged the second runner-up honors with his net score of 66 after pulling past Bayani Garcia and Wendel Yap in the countback.
The class B title went to Johnny Siao with a net score of 65 strokes while second place went to Kenneth Dyguani with a net 66 edging Martin Montenegro and S. Hangai.
Montenegro took the second runner-up plum after also beating Hangai in the tie break.
Jacinto Limyutian won the class C title with a net score of 64 strokes while second place went to Lucio Tapnio with 65 and Jet Neric took third place with 66.
Neric made it to the podium after slipping past Y. Masuda, Joe Soberano, David Hermosisima and M. Koike in the countback.
Richard Tiansay ruled class D with a net score of 61 strokes. Rolly Tan was second with a net score of 68 and third place went to Angelo Barcelo with a net score of 69 after he edged P Go and Antonio Baltazar in the countback.
The seniors’ crown went to Antonio Sikimhua with a net score of 65 edging Fred Agor in the countback.
Agor settled for the first runner-up honors while second runner-up was Eddie Ong with 66.
Dennis Canoy won the guest division title with a net score of 74 using the modified Callaway handicapping format.
Enrico Solon was first runner-up with a net score of 75 while Victor Gocela was third also with a net 75 after edging Choy Ramos, Gassy Lizares, Tedd Almario, and Donie Suico in the countback. (FREEMAN NEWS)
