ANS-Pomeroy bags 14-under crown in Denker footballfest

CEBU, Philippines - Abellana National School (ANS)-Pomeroy thrashed Team Bankal/Abuno, 4-0, to bag the 14-under title of the 4th FCIC Denker League 2010 football tournament the other day at the Mactan Air Base Elementary School (MABES) grounds.

ANS-Pomeroy of coach Francis Ramirez broke the ice of the match courtesy of Ryan Arranquez with just five minutes gone by in the game. John Hale Tecson later punched in back-to-back goals at the 17th and 19th as they posted an imposing 3-0 egde.

John Patick Polestica knocked in a goal with 10 minutes lef to play to seal ANS-Pomeroy’s shutout victory.

In the men’s open category, Team Vudu overpowered Team Looc, 2-1.

Jano Flores and Mark Arranguez drilled in the winning goals for Vudu at the 24th and 35th.

Team Looc’s lone goal was made by Opao Cortes with only three minutes to go in the game.

Looc Elementary School, on the other hand, secured the under-12 crown after eking out a 1-0 win over Lapu-Lapu City Central Elementary School.

Banban Giovani Limosnero sank the game-clinching goal for Lapu-Lapu ES.
