Cebuano dance athletes invade Manila

CEBU, Philippines - Even if it fields a smaller number of delegation, Dancesport-Team Cebu City remains hopeful it will defend its title in the DanceSport Council of the Philippines Inc. (DSCPI) first Quarter Rankings and Competition for 2010 today at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

DTCC official Ricca Alix said that around 25 couples will be competing, mostly seasoned and fast-rising ones.

Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) dancesport director Edward Hayco, on the other hand, couldn’t say much about their chances but just flashed his usual radiant smile as if meant to say, DTCC can do it again.

Charlea Lagaras, who was one of the major awardees of the 28th SAC-SMB awards, is expected to give another honor to DTCC along with her long-time dance partner Ronnie Vergara.

Today’s battle is actually the start of DSCPI’s hunt for RP’s representative in dancesport to the Guangzhou Asian Games this November. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (FREEMAN NEWS)
