Ortega lifts AC Sports past BIR in USC hoop
Cesar Esteban Ortega musled his way to a 21-point show as AC Sports pummeled the listless Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), 79-63, in the USC-South Campus PTCA, Inc. basketball tournament at the school’s covered court.
Aside from dishing out five assists, Ortega also led in the scoring and rebounding departments for AC Sports, which stayed unbeaten in two starts.
BIR actually enjoyed a six-point lead at the end of the first period, 23-17, but could not sustain its momentum.
Christian Blanco chipped in 17 points for AC Sports follow by Lou Regidor with 13.
Jun Santiago paced BIR with 14 points, while Jimwell Legarde, Chris Diamos and Yoli Meso added 10 points each in a losing effort.
