CEBU, Philippines - Lyndon Requilme emerged as the winningest rider in the fourth leg of the OZ Racing Grand Prix Series 2009, which also served as the 6th Danao City Mayor’s Cup last Sunday at the Danao City Sports and Civic Center grounds.
Requilme bagged two championship trophies via the premiere expert and novice open. He outsmarted Arnel Fajardo and Bobbie Mencias in the expert category, while Nino Surban and Fajardo occupied the next two spots in the novice open.
Keken Cabahug earned a fair share of the spotlight with two titles through the beginners superstock 110cc and 125cc classes. He edged out Mark Capoy and Moises Muñoz for the top spot in the 110cc, while Muñoz and Jeslouie Vega placed second and third, respectively, in the 125cc.
Despite a dismal showing in the superstock, Capoy still has something to brag about as he topped the automatic open. Kenneth Ouano landed at decent second place, while Nelson Mayol, Gilbert Miro and Insik Flores completed the top five finishers.
In the first-timer class, Jonardo Romero came out the fastest followed by Reymarx Terona. Erwin Albaracin wound up third followed by Franz Lloyd Galan and Rely Brendo.
Ricky Banzon also had a trip to the winners’ podium after dominating the Danao Locals division. Harold Roble ended up second followed by Glenn de la Rama, Nanoy Cuervo and John Vincent Capoy.
The adrenaline-pumping action was presented by OZ Racing Corp. through its president Zandro Fajardo in cooperation with the Danao City Sports Commission (DCSC) through its chairman and city councilor Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, Jr. – EBV (FREEMAN NEWS)
