Adlawan goes for slam in San Remigio moto

-

CEBU, Philippines – Jon-Jon Adlawan goes for grandslam in the expert class as the 2009 MS Motosuit Motocross Series kicks off in San Remigio today.

Adlawan, however, will have his hands full against his teammates in Power Sports Racing in brothers Juvenille and Jovanni Abellar. The brothers, who are also gunning for victory in the expert class, will try to prevent Adlawan from taking his third straight title.

Today’s eighth leg dubbed as the 7th Mayor Mariano Martinez Motocross Cup attracted more than 50 entries from Cebu, other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Adlawan’s grandslam seeking ride may hit another bump because the contest will be anybody’s game. This means that unlike in the other classes, there will be nobody acting as support or “domestique” in the team - it’s a one-man race.

Motocross enthusiasts will also be watching for other notable riders competing in this leg. This includes John Flores of Joy Flores Racing Team, Paulo Inoc of STR Racing, 2008 Rider of the Year Siegfred Ornopia of Keiz BJ Racing, Pepo Rubi and the rest of the Castrol Quickflight team and Nonoy Reluya of NR Racing Team.

The municipality of San Remigio organized the race through the efforts of Mayor Mariano Martinez, Vice Mayor Nino Bascon and the municipal council in honor of the municipality’s patron saint San Juan Nepomuceno.

Castrol Power 1, Cebu Reliance Motor Parts, Ms Digital Prints, Keiz BJ Motor Parts, F&FO Motor Parts, RMO Motor Parts, MS Carsuits (in cooperation with MS Motosuit Motocross TV and Kier Louie’s Motosuit Manufacturing) are sponsors of the race. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
