Ave Maria eyes 5-0 lead in M. Lhuillier caging

CEBU, Philippines - The Ave Maria Sanctuary Park of team owner Raffy Senining guns fors its fifth straight win in as many starts when it takes on the CSD Power Brokers in today’s main game of the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cup basketball tournament at the Pooc hardcourt in Talisay City.

Ave Maria goes up against the Power Brokers at 8:30 pm, right after the opening tussle between the 24/7 Convenience Store and ADI Sportswear at 7 pm.

Ave Maria SP, which currently enjoys the solo lead with an immaculate 4-0 record, is bannered by ex and current University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars led by Luther Luke Justiani.

The Ave Maria mainstays will collide with CSD’s strong force of commercial veterans in the likes of Aldrin Ocañada, Jerry Jaca, Jan Montalbo, and Franklin Nailon.

The Power Brokers are currently in a four-way tie at third place with Chazyl Mae, Binglens, and San Remigio Beach Club with identical 3-2 win-loss records.

24/7 Convenience of team captain Mark Abadia totes a woeful 1-4 card, while ADI Sportswear is still winless in four games.

Action shifts tomorrow in Suba, Pasil with another exciting double-header on tap. Perfect Freight will square off against Binglens in the first game at 7 pm, while the Asian Colleges of Technology (ACT) Cyber Knights will mix it up with SRBC in the 8:30 pm mainer.
