CEBU, Philippines - The Enervon/UC Webmasters hope to maintain their hot streak as they go up against the Virginia/CIT Wildcats even as the Prime Asia/UV Lancers test the R. Lapid’s Chicharon/DBTC Greywolves in today’s twinbill of the 3rd CESAFI Partners’ Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.
For the first time this season, the Partners’ Cup will visit the municipality of Dumanjug south of Cebu, with Aerosol/USC Warriors and the CDO Idol/USPF Panthers trying to break their 2-3 win-loss tie.
After scoring a precarious 75-70 victory over the Aerosol/USC Warriors the other night, the Webmasters seek to improve their 4-1 win-loss card against the Wildcats, who were skinned alive by the Greywolves last Thursday, 91-73.
With June Mar Fajardo healthy, the Webmasters will enter the game as the heavy favorites over the Wildcats led by the tandem of Jerry Jaca and ex-pro Gilbert Demape.
Moncrief Rogado, Janssen Abella, Edward Pao and Kevin Quilantang composed the top offensive cagers of UC along with Kelvin Juliane, Lawrence Agas, Ralph Ramos, Robinson Mohamad and Rommel Luceño.
The 3-2 Lancers, on the other hand, will rely on Edrian Lao, Ralph Olivares, Bonifer Sendrijas, Harold Cincoflores, Phil Mercader and Ritchum Dennison among others. The will go up against the Greywolves reliables in the likes of Chris de la Rama, Ricmar Perturbos, Joseph Villaver, Rudy Enterina Jr., Allain delos Santos and Celso Colegado Jr.
Over in Dumanjug, the well-rested CDO Idol/USPF Panthers will take on the Aerosol/USC Warriors. Some of the leading offensive players for the Warriors are Giovanni Padillo, Ryan Carlo Padayao and Joven Cid Cortes, while the Panthers have playing coach Mike Sereño, Elvin Labres, Randu Colonia and Ellison Rivera to count on.
