CEBU - Close to a hundred racquet-wielders from different clubs here and in other parts of the Vis-Min region are all kicking to vie for supremacy in the 2009 Sinulog Friendly-Dumot Invitational Tennis Tournament set from January 12 to 15 at the Baseline tennis courts.
Among the categories to be contested are class A, B and C.
Aside from host Cebu City Tennis Club (CCTC), also taking part in the four-day netfest are Lapu-Lapu TC, Villa Aurora, Naga, Mandaue, Compostela, La Paloma, Talamban, Baseline Aga-Gising, and Liloan.
The out-of-town entries are from Ozamiz, Kapatagan, Lanao del Sur, Dipolog, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, and Bohol.
The pre-Sinulog tiff is organized by CCTC under the leadership of Naga Councilor Boy Chiong. The members of the technical committee are Atty. Frank Malilong, Wilmags Magbutay, Ritchie Bacalso, and Joel Cortes.
Trophies and cash prizes are at stake for all the category winners.
The event will give tennis fans a chance to witness the best commercial netters in the region show their stuff. – EBV (THE FREEMAN)
