Erwin Armean romped off with the MVP trophy in the Vice Mayor Ember Alinsug “Sobra sa Kuwarenta” 3-on-3 basketball tournament last Sunday at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
The coveted award was handed over to Armean for steering his team to the championship. He played alongside Roberto Malagar, Pictoy Paramel, and Stephen Lada.
Litoy Pascua, Joebert Tibon, Nolberto Cejas, and Rubin Gasal finished second, while Clifford Bio, Roelito Bankal, Boy Pitogo, and Marjorie Arrofo claimed the third place honors.
Aside from trophies, medals and basketballs, the champion pocketed P5,000, while the second and third finishers received P3,000 and P1,000, respectively.
Event coordinator Paul Flores, who once saw action with the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws in the UAAP, said that Vice Mayor Ember Alinsug is planning to hold similar tournaments featuring 12-under, 18-under, 21-under, 35-under, and 40-above categories to highlight Consolacion’s annual fiesta celebration this October.
It will be organized by the Consolacion Selection Team headed by Councilor Alelu Flores. – EBV
