SWU Team A of Jannelle Tabio and Florianne Gutierrez completed a six-game elimination round sweep with a merciless 25-2 drubbing of Krizia Ann Talacero and Jackelyn Crisostomo of Abellana National School (ANS).
SWU Team A of coach Janeth Ponte barged into the semis as Bracket B topseed with a clean 6-0 slate followed by Arthro of coach Thelma Datig with a 5-1 win-loss record.
Exciting beach volley action resumes on Sunday, with Jessa Satina and Lorie Mae Layno of SWU Team B figuring in a do-of-die duel against Erika Camille Verano and Herlene Ybarita of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Team A.
SWU Team B, which currently sports a 4-1 win-loss mark, is hard-pressed to defeat USPF Team A to stave off outright exit.

If this happens, tournament manager Raul Gonzales of the Cebu Volleyball Federation (CVF) said the Olympic quotient system shall be applied to resolve the standoff.
“In the event of a triple-tie, we are going to apply the Olympic quotient system to determine the teams which will move into the semifinal round,” said Gonzales.
