Gasataya tops Feb. edition of Prima bowl

John Gasataya is the second bowler to qualify for the Prima Cebu Tenpin Bowling’s season-ending Bowler of the Year contest slated sometime in December at the Gaisano Country Mall Bowlingplex.

This after Gasataya emerged as February’s best with 1,712 pinfalls.

Gasataya, who ranked fifth behind Michelle Lim in the first monthly finals of the tournament’s 2008 edition, outsmarted Docdoc Gothong in the latest action by 64 pins.

Gothong set the early pace, but Gasataya was able to catch up in the eighth and final game to earn ticket to the BOY tilt.

Xyrra Cabusas landed third with 1,562 pinfalls followed by Bless Uy with 1,557 pinfalls and Jacklynn Lim with 1,555.

Rounding up the top 10 finishers of the Edcon Glass Aluminum-sponsored February finals were Jake Yap (1,537), Luther Tapaya (1,522), Jomar Jumapao (1,152), Michelle Lim (1,489), and Clarence Tiu (1,478).  —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
