Alta Vista Christmas Fun Golf tees off today
More than half of the field of 200 players will tee off today at the start of the Christmas Fun Golf Tournament at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo, this city.
Organizers have encouraged players to see action today so that the results would be in earlier than usual in time for the awards ceremony at
There are still a few slots available and those who would like to see action are advised to contact the club’s registration counter at 2727977 to check on availability.
Entry fee is pegged at P2,500 per player. Each participant will receive a pair of Bolle golf shades with the Eagle Vision lens, which helps a player see the contours of the green.
The hole-in-one prizes are a Kia Picanto from Gateway Motors (Kia) Cebu on holes No. 2 and 13, a residential lot from Sta. Lucia Realty on hole No. 15, a Yamaha Gmax golf cart on hole No. 15, P50,000 from Malayan Insurance and a Yamaha motorcycle from Norkis Trading on all par-3 holes, and airline tickets from Marist Royal Holidays Travel and Tours.
A Skygo motorcycle from Nito’s (Skygo) International will be put on the line for an eagle on all par-4 holes.
Prime backers of the tournament are Taiyo Yuden (Phils.) Inc. and Globe Telecom.
Major sponsors are Song Chang Young, Stocks R’ Us, and Bolle, which is giving away high-end eyewear for the raffles.
Also supporting the event are Kim Kwag Je, Takaharu Imai, Astro Foil International Inc., Cebu Bionic Builders Supply, Uy Masuy Wine Factory, Pilipinas Shell, Junrex Cellphones and Accessories, Pepsi Cola, BPI/MS Insurance, Carlos A. Gothong Lines, and Petron Corporation.

The tournament will follow the strokeplay format and the December 1 handicaps to be used to determine the net scores.
Prizes at stake will be the overall championship for the player with the lowest gross and the top three finishers of three handicap classes for men, the seniors’ ladies’ and guest divisions. (NLQ)
