Cebu City's 45 kilograms fighter Jestoni Borres is the first boxer to march into the championship round, thus, assuring the Niños of at least a silver.
Borres' teammates in 32 kgs. Marlon Tobis, 38 kgs. Jonald Tubod and 42 kgs. Apolonio Chavez also ensured Cebu City of at least three bronzes for rolling into the semis.
Tobis will take on Tagbilaran's Mark Melvin Basingga in the penultimate round, whileTubod and Chavez will clash with Mandaue's Junrey Icot and Christian Semblante, respectively.
The two other semifinalists for Mandaue are 34 kgs. Gerald Suico and 36 kgs. Antoneto Caliga. Suico will go up against Talisay's Ever Bacus, while Caliga will mix it up with Edillo Abria Jnr of host Maasin.
Tagbilaran secured three sure bronzes via the 32 and 45 kgs. divisions and the 40 kgs. class through Noel Adelmita, who is set to battle Maasin's Jophet Flores in the event organized by ABAP-Visayas and hosted by the provincial government of Southern Leyte led by Gov. Rosette Lerias.
