Armour Wood '85 and defending champion Big Boss '96 coasted to their second straight wins in the semifinal round and in the process ousted their respective foes in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 8th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup on Thursday night at the City Sports Club Cebu gym.
Class '85 kicked Dewfoam '88 put of contention via a 55-45 decision, while Class '96 unleashed a furious offensive storm in the second half to devastate JRJ Enterprises 2000, 85-61.

3:00 pm '89/93 vs. 1991
With their victories, Class '85 and '96 are already assured of at least a tie for a finals berth in their respective divisions. They just need one more win to formalize their entry into the championship round.
Joel Chan topscored with 18 points, while Edvin Kaw and Stephen Lee each posted 11 markers for Class '88, which piled up a 11-point lead after three quarters, 45-34, and wisely used it as a buffer to pin down Class '88.
Rey Kenneth Ng posted a season-best 16 points, but couldn't make a difference as Class '88 bowed out of the tournament with a 1-2 slate in the semis. The missing link was top gunner Erwin Yu who was held off to a season-low five points.
In the main game, Rogelio Donayre scattered a season-high 24 points, Shaun Christopher Wang had 19 points, while Franklin Neil Ong and Gerald Chua combined for 21 points as Class '96 stepped into the threshold of Division II finals.
Class '96 led by only seven at halftime, 40-33, but detonated a 24-13 bomb in the third period before formally knocking out Class 2000 with a 21-15 run in the payoff period.
Karl Christian Lausa had 14 points, while John Bryan Lo added 12 markers for Class 2000, which already went to the exit.
